Alright, i just recently reencoded black hawk down. Now the movie says it is 16:9, so I went ahead and followed the instructions for getting the best out of cce and encoded the dvd and then authored with spruce up. However, when I burnt it and tried to play it on my big screen, the ratio was a little messed up. I mean it is almost 16:9, but not exact. I would say it is like 15:9 or so because it is about 2-3in taller on my 53in bigscreen then another 16:9 movie i compared it with (predator). This isn't a serious problem, but it does make me wonder if I did something wrong. The encoded mpeg2 video stream looks fine, but after authoring the video gets messed up.
Edit: Figured out what was wrong. Spruceup was writing the ifos as 4:3 and I just changed them to 16:9 letterboxed.
