With the aiw I was using recently, if I tuned the tv tuner to the vcr i would get a black and white picture and bad sound. All the other channels it tuned to were fine. There was one exception however, if I used ati mmc 7.1 it was ok, but using any other software (vdub, digital vcr, avi_io) I had this problem. Is this a common problem when using tv tuners to vhs?
Thanks,

??? I run my cable connection thru an "El Cheapo" 4 head Emerson VHS player ($45 at WalMart), with the output going to my AIW 7500 card with no problems. Well, at first I had lousey video, but replacing both coax cables solved the problem. I can capture from either cable TV, a VHS tape or an 8mm camera (switches into the cable connection at the VHS player input). Not sure what to suggest - except try better quality coax cables as a possibility. Otherwise, might be the quality of the tuner in your VHS unit.
