hi there,
I've finally got vdub capturing properly with my aiw rage. I've got my vcr connect through the tv tuner because it hasnt got an s-video or rca output jack.
Here's the problem - When using vdub's tv tuner I can tune to normal tv channels and get a colour signal and good sound. However, when I tune it to the vcr it goes black and white and the sound quality is very low. I thought maybe it was some sort of copy protection on the cassette, but even the vcrs menu system is black and white when it should be blue.
ATI's MMC hasnt got this problem but i want to capture via DivX 5.02 quality based which I cant do in there. I've tried hufyuv and mjpeg, but I havent really got the space (15 gig to free). I was going to reencode to DivX anyway so I think its my best option.
Can anyone help with this black and white problem? Although I installed the wrapper vdub still gives me an error saying there is no capture device but when I click ok it comes up in the preview screen...
