Is there a guide explaining how to use the filters in Nandub? I managed to load one but when trying to save the avi using the filter it just became some GB big. Anyway I'd like to learn more about using filters in Nandub. Well I must say that I use xmpeg to encode avis. This may sound lame but I can use the nandub filters with an already complete movie, right? I say that because I have in mind all these weird stuff with gordian knot and the pseudoavis DVD2avi create (or something like that)

1) Could you have forgetten to to specify your codec and compression when trying to apply the filter? I've never heard of a filter boosting your output file size like that. It sounds like Nandub was just outputting uncompressed video.

2) You can always apply filters to completed videos, but what you are actually doing when you do this is decompressing the original file, applying the filter, and then recompressing the output to a new file.

3) As far as "learning" the filters, quite a few of them (resizing, brightness/contrast, sharpen, blur, etc.) are obvious just by openning them and seeing what options they have listed. When you get to the ones that have strange-looking names, it's probably not a tutorial on how to use that filter that you need, but an explanation of what problem that particular filter is trying to solve.

If I might add.
Recompressing the video will make you lose quality as you have to encode the video in divx again. So if you use filters, it's best to use them all at once the first time. But some of the more usefull filters are temporal smoother for noisy sources, the crop and resize is only if you do it manualy.
This link is to a bunch of Vdub options (Nandub is based on Virtual Dub so they will also work in nandub), they are not filters, but you might find them usefull.
