AC3 channel

Hi..can somebody confirm when DVD2AVI transcodes DD 5.1 to AC3(3/2)and still maintains those 5 channel available or it will mix it to 2 channel stereo only.

DVD2AVI does not transcode! It can decode to wav or demux audio to a separate file. For some reason though, it identifies some 5.1 audio as 3.2, but you will always get what was originally on the DVD if it says 3/2 and you want .ac3 output.
BTW DD is AC3, they are just two different names for the same thing.

I know the question looks stupid. I should re-phrase it.

Does DV2AVI just extract the DD 5.1 to .ac3 as it is (maintain those 5.1 streams as DVD original) or does some downmixing decoding.
