Hi,
Have another question which I haven't found any answers for in Doom9's guides.
I got a 700mb avi with sound.
Is it possible to remove/extract the sound and get a movie file for like 600mb and a soundfile 100mb (mp3)? (sizes just examples)
What I need to do is to resample the sound to a lower kbps in the MP3 and then use Nandub to mix them together.
Thanks

Yes, you can. Nandub has a "save WAV..." option which will allow you to save the sound in a separate file. It will save the file as a .wav file, regardless of it's actual format. Rename it to the proper format (mp3, ac3) or leave as .wav if needed. If you're not sure, use GSpot to determine the sound format used in the .avi.
To re-mux after transcoding the sound, use Nandub again. Set video to "direct stream copy" and select the audio file, then "save as avi".

Thanks again Jggimi...
One more question before I try it out.
So I get a Wav file which I can resample.
But when I Re-mux it wont the file increase to lets say 800mb or is the sound replaced somehow?
Holy Macaroni...I got myself a Divx WMA file... :(
Somehow in my earlier days I must have managed something...
I will try to see if I can find a converter or anything.
Thanks

You will be creating a new .avi file from the video of the old, and the sound you provide. In effect, "replacing" the soundtrack but in a newly created .avi file.

Updating for info:
I found a couple of programs converting WMA 2 WAV but none of them worked so I searched this forum and found something about GraphEdit.
It took me some time but finally I managed to convert the WMA to a WAV using GraphEdit. (Found a way of doing it in a guide somewhere here)
Then I just converted the WAV to MP3 again.
Used Nandub to put together. (Worked perfectly like always.)
Now finally I can burn my AVI.. :)
A happy DragonFist
