I have an 800mb mpeg file i want to burn on a cd.

I tried loaing it up in TMPGenc under the "merge and cut" option in "mpeg tools" and get error "illegal mpeg video stream".

Any ideas as to the problem ?
Are there any other programs i could use to cut part of the file out ?

Also , if i wanted to keep all the video and resize it to 700mb could i re-encode it making the resolution smaller ?

I would appreciate any help

if your mpeg is vcd compliant then overburn it as a vcd with nero, i don't uses tmpgenc for cutting much; but i would highly recommend ifilmedit, myflix, and vcdcutter (all demos).

if you want to lower the size of the video, lower the bitrate not the resolution.

if you need help, check the guides on www.doom9.org or www.vcdhelper.com

the website www.cinax.com redirect off to another site where there is no sign of that program.

I have searched other sites but they all link to the cinax.com website

If the mpeg is only 800mb, you don't have to overburn. This will fit normally on a 80 min, 700mb cd.

yeah, burn it as (S)VCD - 800MB is perfectly normal for (S)VCD
