can someone tell me how i can get a sharp and clear image when i encode a movie, its very diffecult to get atleast for me .
and if i do get it then if i use the same settings and filters on the next one it dosent work . can someone advice me how to get a sharp and clear picture .

As a user of xmpeg to encode movies i've made the discovery that bilinear resize looks sharper than bicubic.

Are you sure about your "discovery"?
I thought it was just the opposite way (bicubic sharper than bilinear)... :rolleyes:

Your discovery might be misleading for you and others as well :).

:) yeah i do agree most of the time i get a sharper picture with bicubic.let me refrase it how do i get a clear picture as near the original dvd picture :)

Yes bicubic gives sharper results but it could results in more block.
Bilinear will give you a smoother picture but it removes some details and it it could also introduce more aliasing
