View Full Version : Resizing - how to?

Maybe I'm just too stupid, or I've missed the DVD2AVI-enable-resizing-and-cropping-plugin... Could s.o. please explain how to resize & crop in DVD2AVI (1.7x)? OK, the options are few enough, let's choose "resize and crop" ... then appears a window where I put my check mark in the top right corner or it won't let me do anything at all. All controls but the left/right sliders are fixed, and left/right cropping alone is totally useless most of the time. So, where is the bug in the picture?
Thanx a lot for any idiot-proof description %-?.

You can't resize with the 1.7x version of DVD2AVI.
You need to use a non-official like the 1.82 version modified by OGO.
Or you can resize in AVISynth. If you want an easy way to resize & crop use gordian knot (as always there is a guide on Doom9 page).

Thanx very much.
(Why can't I resize in the official, stable 1.7x- versions?...)

Just because there is no code for this in DVD2AVI ATM.
The author has not finished this feature yet.
It's like this since a quite long time now, the author doesn't seem to need it.
But there are new project coming like save-oe or Nic's DVD2AVI version.
We just have to wait ;)

Thanks again.
One thing I really like about DVD2AVI is its ability to demux VOB files. For everything else, I prefer FlaskMPEG (which isn't totally perfect either, especially with XVID).
Have fun ...
