View Full Version : Some ugly horisontal lines..

Hi.. I really love Gordian Knot. Pretty easy to rip a dvd with nice quality. But one thing is weird. I follow the doom9 guide very closely all the time but in a few occasions I get these horisontal lines when a scene changes. It's only one frame at a time, but you can still see them, and I don't like it. Most of the time I don't get these, but sometimes.. Anyone know what I did wrong?
Thx..

If it only occurs on scene changes I guess is IVTC failing, try using Decomb for IVTC instead of DVD2AVI's "Force Film", it solved this problems for me. I mean, set Field Operations to None in DVD2AVI when you save the project, and when you select Save & Encode from the file menu in the preview window, enable "Inverse Telecine" under "Field Operations". This happen sometimes, because DVD2AVI's inverse telecine is not as good as in the Decomb filter used by Gordian Knot.

Hi-
However, if it's a PAL movie, you'll have to comment out the Decimate line or it will change your frame rate.

@Fox... because DVD2AVI's inverse telecine is not as good ...I'll disagree with your definition of "good". Force FILM follows the field information in the MPEG2 metadata. Blame the content, not the tool. :-)

I probably like DVD2AVI more than you, I'm not blaming anything and I was just trying to help Lord Nero without going to "MPEG2 metadata world" :p You can put it as Decomb being "smarter" if you like. But all this is completely off topic. Next time remember that english is not the native tongue for many users here like me, and we could sound harsh without intention, before jumping into conclusions.;)
