I’m a beginner in the new DVD-R recording world, I have already made 200 films, but I still have problems with some films like (MATRIX, SWORDFISH; A.I.; ALIENS 2, ..) there is one thing in common between then , all of than are recorded in 2 DVD-R. I always use the same
programs (SmartRipper, InfoEdit and NERO 5.5.8.0) , will be this programs that I use the problem ???? To make the record I use the DVD-R Princo 4.7GB, will be this DVD-R the problem???( but why with another films, they play ). Another thing that I do is “ changing to
start with movie instead of menu “. It’s possible this films that I mention has some protection that I must unlock.

i backed up aliens onto a DVD5, and at first it wouldn't play in a standalone for me. this seems kinda weird, but here is what the prob was. originally, i ripped the copyright warnings from the video_ts.vob file...this did not play through ifoedit or my standalone. to fix it i left all the warnings in the video_ts.vob, then opened video_ts.ifo in ifoedit and simply deleted the playback of the copyright warning vob-ids. this played fine in ifoedit and my standalone.

so, the video_ts.vob still had the warning in there, but there were no references to play them in the video_ts.ifo. seems kinda weird to me since the ifo looked the same for both methods, but whatever works.

i believe you may be goin about this the wrong way.. read doom9s ifoedit/cce guide or getting the best out of CCE.. that will help you with everything but backing up The Matrix FULL on dvd is quite a task that i dont know if anyone could do yet. try readint those guides and it might be more clear to u ...good luck buddy.
