View Full Version : Unable to sync audio in Gknot when source is MPEG audio

Howdy everyone -

I'm using GKnot 0.26 with DivX Pro 5.02 to encode stuff. Recently, I got some pseudo-crappy DVDs that I wanted to encode, and tried them with GKnot. I used DVD2AVI like always, and noticed that the audio source wasn't AC3, but MPEG2 audio instead. The encoder in Gknot only accepts an AC3, MP3, or WAV source.

So, I found a program to convert the audio in the VOB to a WAV file (I think it was VOB2AUDIO, not sure), and used that WAV file as the audio source. GKnot ran through it, and produced a movie whose audio was late by roughly a minute!

I tried using NanDub to align the audio, by manually entering an audio offset by trial and error. But if I align the audio so it syncs with the beginning of the movie, the end of the movie is way out of sync, and vice versa, if I align the end the beginning is out of sync and slowly moves into sync as it nears the end.

When I re-encode the audio in NanDub, I'm also making sure to interweave every frame.

Any suggestions guys?
