I'm having issues creating DVDs that can be read in a standalone DVD player, and was hoping someone here could help.
I'm working with the Buffy the Vampire Slayer DVD set, and used smartripper to rip the individual episodes and demux them.
After I demuxed them I loaded them into ReelDVD (demo version, 25 days remaining), and created the layout and linkings that I wanted on the final DVD.
After making the video files, I launch Nero (came with DVD burner) and choose DVD Video for the type, and set multi-session to "No". After that I drag in the Audio and video folders that ReelDVD created and start the burn process.
It appears to work properly, and doesn't give any DVD specification errors during the burn, and the DVD plays back perfectly on the computer. When I go to put it in either of my two standalone DVD players (a standard 3-disc JVC, and a portable international DVD player) it gives a "Bad Disc" error message.
I know both players can read DVD-R discs, because I used My-DVD to create a DVD of some of my home movies, and it plays back fine. I want to use ReelDVD, however, because of the versatility in setting up chapters and menus.
Does anyone know of any special settings I have to use in ReelDVD or Nero that I might have missed? I have gone through almost all of the DVD ripping guides on the site, hoping to garner a bit of information on this specific problem but haven't found anything yet.
TIA,
Domosan
