View Full Version : Bug in the AC3 Machine v0.3

I am trying to encode an AC3 file from a wave file using the AC3 Machine v0.3(from an audio cd). If I encode the AC3 file without changing the sampling rate, encoded file works perfect ( but with sampling rate of 44.1 kbps that is not accepted for DVD authoring). However if I try to change the sampling rate from 44.1 to 48 kbps using SSRC sampling rate option, the encoded file sounds with a lot of distortion.
I know that this can be done, because I can change sampling rate from 44.1 to 48 kbps using besweet, then create the AC3 file from this new wave file so I can create a DVD compliance AC3 file.
So, there most be a bug in the AC3 Machine that doesn,t allowed SSRC to upconvert sampling rate correctly. Any ideas?

I reload rc7 from your website ( I notice you modify Shibatch.dll !!! ). I still have the same problem. Maybe problem is AC3 Machine or SSRC...

Thak you DSPguru !!! Now it works...
However when changing the sampling rate from 44.1 to 48 kbps with BeSweet or AC3 Machine some noise is added. If you hear carefully new file created, you will notice some spikes or very low distortion (similar to the noise created by scratches in the surface of old LP's ) . This happens when you create the new wave or AC3 file (48 kbps) from a wave file with a sampling rate of 44.1 kbps.
I use Nero Wave Editor to change sampling rate from 44.1 to 48 kbps of my original wave file with excellent results, so I assume that some modifications may be done to the SSRC to resolve this problem.

DSPguru:
This noises appears in the latest download and in previous version 1.4RC7.
I try BeSweet v1.3...
When I use BeSweet gui to change sampling rate of my wave file from 44.1 to 48 kbps I get a noise free wave file. However AC3 files created with the AC3 Machine v0.3 and BeSweet v1.3 (changing sampling rate from 44.1 to 48 kbps) are corrupted...

Now everything work's OK...
I can convert wave (44.1 kbps) to 2.0 AC3 (48 kbps) using only AC3 Machine v0.3.
Thank you, good work!!!

Wish List- Would it be possible to modify BeSweet Gui so it can encode .ac3 files ? (in addition to ac3-wave)
