What's the smallest Bitrate you can get for a song... I want to send an mp3 via email but I don't know the smallest Bitrate... let me know.

Personally, I'll never go lower than 64kbps,
for this bitrate I prefer you to use Mp3Pro or Vorbis.

I agree with ookzDVD, 64kbps MP3pro would be perfect for your needs.

it depends on the quality. if you just want the other person to know what you're talking about, you can go VERY low.
if you use vorbis (1.0), you can even go as low 48kbps stereo (!!) and it may produce quite amazing results (i encoded a full jazz cd to about 20M, with vorbis 1.0, it's quite unbelievable)
just check it yourself, and see if the quality is enough 4 u. it's subjective afterall...

http://vorbis.com has encoders
or http://cdexos.sf.net can rip audio cd directly to ogg-vorbis (1.0) or any other mp3 of course.
