Does anyone know if its possible to take out Subtitles that are muxed
into an OGM file? I know they are muxed caused you can turn them on and off.

So far I have been able to take out the subtitle by:

OS: Win98Se + Win2K

Programs Used
GraphEdit (01108)
DvobSub 2.14 (2.16 has problems for me)

Open GraphEdit
Open OGM file by Render Media File in GraphEdit
___________________________________________________________________________________
> Video >
Bubbles.OGM > OGG Splitter > Audio > AVI MUX > Alpha.avi (File Writer Filter)
> Subtitle >
Play
___________________________________________________________________________________

Alpha.avi > AVI Splitter > Stream 02 (Subtitle) > AVI MUX > Beta.avi

Play
___________________________________________________________________________________

Beta.avi > AVI Splitter > Sigma.txt (Dump Filter [DUMP.AX])

Play
___________________________________________________________________________________

Now open with Wordpad or Winword, NOTEPAD just makes a mess.

And you can see all the subtiles in their proper lines.

However in the process all the info about timing/Font are all lost.

So I'm wondering if anyone know any other process to extract it without
losing the timming and fonts?

If I can get it out without losing the timing and font, I can make it permanent sub to the AVI file by VrDub.

So any ideas?

Install the Ogg Subtitle DSF (you can get it from Doom9), and you'll have a subtitle dest filter which will extract the subrip file directly from the stream. Afterwards, you'll probably want to uninstall it again as it conflicts with vobsub (and vobsub can display the muxed subs).

Im replying to this ancient thread to see how I use the subtitle dest. I have graphedit open, the ogm is loaded and I see the graph. I can add the subtitle dest filter. But where do I put it in the graph? And how do I get it to output the subtitle file?

EDIT: Nevermind, I figured it out.

You extract it like you would extract an audio stream :

Streams > Stream List > Select the subtitle stream > Demux

Hi to all..

I have download 4 .ogm file.. I am trying to convert the .ogm file to .avi file with 1 audio and 1 subtitle file..

I am using the vdubmob to extract the audio and the video file and its looked great but i having a problem to extract the subtitle file from the .ogm file. When i try to demux it, it works fine but when i try to join back all the audio + video +subtitle file.. its say that there is a problem with my .srt file. There is some error when pursing the file.

My question is.. how do i extract the subtitle file from the .ogm file to make the subtitle file in .srt format? I just need the .srt file to join back all the audio + video + subtitle file but missing the .srt file here...

What do i have to do ? Is there someone there are willing to teach me how to do it step by step ??
