View Full Version : Captured video is jerky

A few weeks ago I captured a video from a VHS tape. The resulting mpg file played OK on my computer. Next, I tried to change the mpg file (using ULEAD MediaStudio 6.5) by just deleting some leading and trailing frames. The resulting re-coded mpg doesn't play smoothly. It is very jerky with periods of frozen video inbetween.
Any ideas what may cause this problems?

ULEAD MediaStudio 6.5 ;)
You could use tmpeg:

Well, the mpg encoder in Ulead Media Studio 6.5 is not exactly the best, but it shouldn't produce jerky video with frozen frames.
Some settings could have been wrong, check them again (or, as BaronVlad said, use another mpeg encoder. The picture quality will be better in any case).
