First Play Problem with DVDMaestro

Hi,
I am working on my first authoring of the Clerks DVD
and having problems with the first play. I have it
set in the command sequences to start with the mainmenu
but after I compiled the project and played the dvd in
PowerDVD it just pauses for a moment and then starts
the movie.

I followed the Maestro guide (which is excellent) to
a T but for some reason I'm missing something particular.
So if anyone could send me in the right direction that
would be great.

need to set it in 'connections'

if the window isnt open, right click in root of project tree and click view connections.

In the connections window, it says All Sources at the top. Then,

First Play mainmenu
Title Menu mainmenu
main_movie: Chapter 1: Menu Key mainmenu

This is what I have set in there just like it said to
do in the guide. This is why I'm confused at to why
it is starting to play the main movie and not starting
with the main menu.

Hope this helps with the description of my problem.

I used the preview button to see if the menus worked
and when I do Play in the Preview it comes up with
the main menu. But when I compile the project and
play the movie in PowerDVD it just starts with the
movie.

Well Well Well!!!

I figured out what I was doing wrong. I was
importing the m2v files that I demuxed out of
the VOB as the menus. So I got MPEG2VCR and
opened the m2v files that contained the menus
and took a snapshot of those and saved the bitmaps.

It took me forever to find a post that had enough
info on how to do this. So sorry for all of you
that have read this post and wasted your time on
the behalf that I didn't know what I was doing. It
was my first re-authoring of a DVD.

Thanks to doom9's great guides on helping people
learn. I am probably one of the many that couldn't
do it without doom9!!!

so you had dropped the m2v of the whole movie onto the menu as the background, and when you used realview (which doesnt show motion menus) it showed the first frame of the video (which would have been black)?

I am doing my first CCE encoding..I get up to Maestro Authoring and my error is
"first play not found"

I am trying to just do a test DVD Authoring using CCE and Maestro without any chapters..

I want just the main movie to play when the dvd is put in the dvd player.


How do I set the dvd to just start playing without chapters in Maestro.

just put movie1,chapter1 as the first play in the connection window

I have noticed something with Maestro,I made a DVD with a menu and three short movies,I made the menu first play.Everything worked fine but if you let the menu load up on screen then press stop(It says stop resume)press stop again(resume goes off)then if I it play it starts playing the first movie instead of the menu.
This is on my Pioneer 525. Can anyone help me correct it?
I have tried with ifoedit but it as not helped.:(
