Syzygy DVD player aka SpruceLink (webDVD) good idea...
Need only to add support Dolby Digital 5.1 sound (now supported only PCM and MPEG audio) and very need _deinterlace_ function for video.
IMHO, if you have InterVideo's WinDVD player,
in your system already installed AV filters, which can used by
Syzygy player... Good programmer (may be Blight, author of Zoom player) know how to did it.

P.S.
The Syzygy DVD player uses a custom version of InterVideo’s WinDVD™ player. A huge advantage of this player is that it is automatically loaded into RAM when the disc is played — nothing is written to the system’s hard drive and support Convergence-Enabled Title.
Spruce authoring systems all have the ability to create Convergence-Enabled titles, which can be distributed on DVD or CD-ROM. A Convergence-Enabled title can have URLs (or other text) embedded in the title, either at chapter points or menu buttons. When the title is played back and a URL is reached, the computer’s browser is automatically enabled and directed to that URL. This allows you to provide additional information to the viewer, such as updated price lists or new concert dates etc. Embedding the URLs is very easy, requiring no HTML or programming knowledge at all.
