Is there a simple CD-to-AAC audio ripping/on=the-fly-encoding method available? I knwo CDCopy is supposed to do this, but with something called faac.dll, which I CANNOT FIND ANYWHERE onliine?

Maybe there is a plug in for WMP 8 or smth, much like there are MP3 plug-ins for WMP for ripping cds into MP3s (cyberlink, etc.).

Lastly, I thought MusicMatch is supposed to play AAC files. I have ver 7.2 (latest) and this one does not provide for opening that file type at all. The only one I could get to play aac files so far was WinAMP and I am not too crazy about it.

Can you guys pleae help. I am trying to convert to AAC for all my digital music, and cannot find an easy way to rip/convert in one step. AACMachine is great, but it will not do automatic ID3 tagging and to the best of my knwoledge will not do many files at the same time.

PLEASE HELP.

i use CDEX together with AACENC.
it doesn't do on-the-fly processing, 'cause there is no streaming version of aacenc.

on the other hand, you could use cdex with faac.dll, but the quality will be poor.

Thanks guys

I will tryu cdex with aacenc. I am right in assuming that you just need to copy aacenc into the cdex directory and htere is an option in cdex to encode in aac?

Thanks again
