Hi folks,
here's the prob:
i convert srt to ssa according the doom9 guide. In Maestro I used the *.sub format for winsubmux or *.txt for I-author. So far so good. But when I use winsubmux to author later in vcdimager (I make svcd or cvd) at first I can’t see any subtitles. The preview in winsubmux shows right though. So when I go forward in the movie (I use chapters in vcdimager) at some point the subtitles appear in the right way, without flickering. I read before that sometimes the subtitle have problems with the mpeg stream. They can’t catch the starting point and so they just don't show. So what is interesting: when I move chapters back to the start the subs suddenly play right without probs! Any clou? ……End of first part
Second part:
I was quite disappointed, because my player had no probs with subtitles before (Elta 8891 DVDN) plays svcd and cvd subtitles without probs, if it’s done with dvd2svcd. Ripping subs directly from DVD. So I switched over to I-Author. Using the same way described before. From Maestro extracting *.txt with pics for I-Author. Then muxing the movie and author it with vcdimager (using ps format in I-Author muxer). Then chapters with vcdimager. And oh what fun: the subtitles started right from the start but were flickering! So someone please tell me what to do! I used the Maestro settings suggested in doom9’s guide.
Ok, that’s what happened so far.
Thanks a lot…..
