I love DVD2SVCD using CCE Encoder. There is one annoying problem that I have noticed is that when a scene moves horizonitally or vertically the pictures seems to jump. It is annoying and spoils the good work. Here is my log file:

My best guess is that the field order is wrong. I know that DVD2SVCD has an autodetect option, although I don't know how it works or if it works.

If you have a copy of TMPGEnc, then perhaps you could use it to open the AviSynth_Script_file.avs created by DVD2SVCD and then use the procedure outlined at http://www.doom9.org/mpg/tmpg_procedures.htm#fieldorder to determine the correct field order.

I was recently frustrated after frameserving a video from VirtualDub to TMPGEnc because neither field order would work....I think it has something to do with VirtualDub opening the .AVI with the wrong field order to begin with, so I had to open the .AVI in VirtualDub with the field order swapped. It amazes me how much time I can waste dealing with the field order, which is why I hope that DVD2SVCD matures to better handle AVI2SVCD in the future.

thanks

Thanks for that mkanar, TMPGEnc gives Top Field First (Field A). I did try encoding with it first, the picture quality was not good but no jerk/jump.

I will test the settings on DVD2SVCD with new settings (By changing the default settings on the encoder tab)

mkanar, it did not work. Same problem with a further problem of audio out of synch.

I am loosing patience with this!

Try using SeparatFields/SelectEvery when deinterlacing. And, only use a deinterlacer if it is needed (you can check this in the preview)

all problem posts go in the dvd2svcdbasic section. concider this a warning.

Yeah I figured out the problem is with deinterlacing. Without deinterlacing the problem is not there however the quality suffers a great deal. Without deinterlacing it is not even in comparison with TMPGEnc.

I will give SeparatFields/SelectEvery a try see if that solves the problem.

Thanks.
