I came across the site at the bottom of this msg today when I was perusing a site called The Shifted Librarian and I damn near bought the device. What it does is lets you serve video from your PC directly down to the PS2 by using the coming (8/2002) PS2's ethernet card and a java prog installed on your PC. They're currently offering a preview edition for $49 which will get you the upgrade to the final edition later. It'll handle MP3, MPEG 1/2 and MPEG 4/DivX. And its 802.11b wireless capable, meaning its possible to watch the PC goodies withing stringing CAT5 downstairs to the PS2.

Please note that I'm not part of this company in any way, nor do I have a PS2 yet, but this may prompt me to get one quicker. I usually frequent the DVD Authoring forum on here, so I wasnt' sure where to stick this thing. The Shifted Librarian site I was on when I saw their article said you better get it quick before the company is taken to court and the product outlawed.

Yes I have seen several other pieces of software popping up offering thin client video support to the PS2. No hacking neccessary! I am waiting till the appointed date and it will be mine. ;)
