OK, this might be a newbie question but I'm just curious. I've been doing this for awhile but just want to get a sense of what everyone thinks.
I've ripped Resident Evil, and determined that everything (menus and movie) are basically in Title Set 1, which is VTS_02_x.xxx. Now in order to meet DVD specs (I think this is right, I may be wrong) the DVD must contain all the VTS_01x.xxx files to play in a stand alone player.
The entire project, after removing all the extra stuff is 4.3 GB but when I try to burn the disc, it basically says that the image is too large to burn. I've thrown away as much as I can (subtitles, extras, large VTS_01x.xxx VOB files. etc) - the project still plays in PowerDVD so it should work. The size is down to 4.2 GB and some change but it still won't burn. Shouldn't it burn? I thought the max was like 4.37 GB or something... I'm using a DVD+RW disc.
My question (or maybe two), can I just rename the VTS_02x.xxx files to VTS_01 since they contain all the menus, then pop the IFOs into IFOEdit to correct them? Or should I just re-encode the movie in CCE or REMPEG to get the size smaller?
I've read all the guides and will most likely just start over tonight when I get in using TRILIGHT's guide.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
