View Full Version : Problem with DVD2SVCD 1.0.9 build 3

The People's Elbow

Hi there,
my problem looks like that...
Video source is pva and I select to keep audio, because recompressing a 192KBit mp2 Audio stream is stupid in any case.
The actual problem comes up, when the file size is calculated by DVD2SVCD! The file is treated as if it had no audio track.
For example:
THe video stream should use about 1250KBit and audio stay at 192KBit... the end product has a video bitrate of approx. 1442KBit AND the audio track. If that were the only problem I just could lower the bitrate to reach my desired filesize, but the file gets splitted while beeing muxed, because it's to big for the targeted size.

Again an example:
File should be 265MB - I set the bitrate lower so that the missing audio bitrate is compensated and I can reach that filesize - but the file gets splitted at approx. 230 MB!
I don't know if this happens wherever you can choose to use the source audio or just in the dvb case, but it's a serious bug I guess!

greetz, Elbow!

Elbow!

Hi,
the audio bitrate of your kept audiostream has to match with the value set in DVD2SVCD in any case. Uncheck "keep audio" and validate that audio bitrate is set to 192 Kbps in your case and then check "keep audio" again. May be this helps.

Regards

Toffy

Thx for the hint, but I don't think that will solve the problem... though it's no more a problem, because I now just mux the files by myself and don't split the file. The end product is what I want to achieve, but it needs user input where it shouldn't.

@the peoples you need to tone down your attitude, as i will not tolerate it. I find your response to labersack someone thats helped this community alot more then alot of people have really annoying so take this as a warning.

@The People's Elbow

I dont understand people like you, you come here looking for help and then you give attitude when people ask for more information. If you want help then come here and be nice and civil and there wont be any problems.

What do you mean it needs user input where it shouldnt? You are doing something that is not the norm in this program and you expect it to work with no problems? WTF is wrong with you? Do you expect DVD2SVCD to wash your clothes too?

Jeez

@chainsaw135:
Was my post insulting? - NO!
Was my tone a bit harsh, because I just got one response which tells me to post a log file that doesn't give more usefull informations as my post before? - YES!
... I think everyone has the right to choose his own attitute and I wasn't insulting or flaming @Labersack!

@Jason28:
Your whole post makes me rofl...
1.If you want help then come here and be nice and civil and there wont be any problems.
- I didn't want any help, my initial post was used to be a kind of bug report. About the _nice and civil_ thing - look what I wrote @chainsaw135

2.You are doing something that is not the norm in this program and you expect it to work with no problems?
- I don't believe that you may call it abnormal, because there are pretty options regarding dvb(pva) files which work like a charm.

3.
WTF is wrong with you? Do you expect DVD2SVCD to wash your clothes too?
- Dear Jason28,
this part of your post is ABSOLUTELY insulting, because it wants the reader to think that me believes DVD2SVCD would be able to wash my clothes...
...No seriously, you just broke some forum rules by writing those lines and the best part of the story is that you denounced me about my attitude before.
By the way: DVD2SVCD is a all-in-one tool and it's aimed to do its _dirty_ work until you have a final svcd compliant file or even a .bin/.cue file.

What a pity that the devoeloper didn't answer till now, because he is the only one who probably has some interest in this information.

Big Elbow!

Maybe the programmer will not answer your post because of your tone and because a possible sollution was already posted by Toffy, you just don't want to try it.
There was some information in your logfile, it almost everytime is, and I just ask you to post it. I don't know why you answered this way, but be sure I (and maybe some others), will help people with friendly tone first.

Please stay away from this thread Labersack, you don't seem to me able giving any constructive words. If you don't understand what you read then I can't help you!

Was meinst du, warm ich meinen Logfile dann später doch poste??? Weil ich dich anmachen will? LOL!
...Kapiert?

By the way - Toffys tip DOESN'T work and I knew it already before I got his response, that is why I wrote it wouldn't solve the problem.

The only thing I did wrong was posting this thread, because you guys didn't get its intention. I should have sent a pm @dvd2svcd directly.

Sorry guy, because I don't want to discuss anything in this manner, I quit this thread and anything else you will post. Have a nice life.

@The People's Elbow:

Just to let you know that I gave you a strike for your behaviour in this forum. Enough is enough - why is it, that the members (including me) are offended by your posts, except you?

I tell you why, seems you're not used to a forum like this and you're not able to communicate in a proper way. I myself found your first reply as unpolite as Labersack and the others did - that's for sure. So it's you that has a problem here and you state that with every further post.

And the DVB feature still is in beta stage, so we all know that it might not work perfectly all the time - but it is the policy of this forum that in any case you should post your logfile because we can't know how advanced you are and indeed it gives us information on how to track down the problem as we can exclude usual user mistakes then.
If you didn't had a logfile at the time Labersack asked for it you could have just replied: "Sorry, no log at the moment, will post it soon." But not the way you did it.

Enough of that! Read the forum rules, calm down and start a new thread giving the information you're asked for - if you still want your problem to be solved as I close this one now - we don't need that here.
