I have a DV camera and when i stream my digital video to my harddrive i generates a AVI that is larger than 4 GB

Can DVD2SVCD handle larger than 4GB AVI files? or multiple 4Gb files?

Regards

Any file system before NTFS (used on NT, 2000, and XP) does not support files above 4gb, and that could be the source of your problem. I'm not positive if DVD2SVCD can write larger files if you are on NTFS, but it would only make sense.

Hi PsyCrow,

See the "Readme.txt" that comes with the DVD2SVCD bundle, since version 1.0.7 Build 1 DVD2SVCD can handle large AVI files because dvd2svcd wrote his own AVI handling routines - so, yes, it can handle files larger than 4GB.

Only problem is, it must be in Typ 2 DV-AVI format. You can use some DV-AVI type converters but some seem to have problems with large files.

There were a few threads about this topic in here already - try a serach for "4GB AVI" it's no magic - isn't it?
