Hey everyone.. just wanted to know if others were experiencing the same problem as me... I upgraded my daemon tools from version 2.88 to version 3.16 and now it doesnt open the dvd2svcd images properly. The images are apparently opened but if i try to test the opened image with win dvd nothing is picked up. This reflects onwards to the cd burn aswell. I tested it with several images that I know DO work which i created with dvd 2 svcd before. I have uninstalled 3.16 and reinstalled 2.88 and it works fine now. Just thought everyone should know and maybe see if anyone knows why this is so.

ok so the images work fine now with daemon tools 2.88 but then i suddenly discovered that my cd burner was choofing out drink coasters!!! even with the images previously tested that came out good. Well.. I'd also upgraded my clone cd from 4 beta 30 to version 4.0.1.10... cant give any huge technical explainations, just did the first thing i could think of to test the situation. I uninstalled clone cd 4.0.1.10 and then re installed clone cd 4 beta 30. Good cd's again! PHEW!!! (thank god its wasnt my burner going bad anyways) days like this really seem to take the fun out of upgrading software.

Anyways thought everyone out there should know this one aswell incase your all having tha same experiences.

Also maybe someone knows what i am doing wrong with the latest versions of these programs which may just need a quick configuration change, if so would be appreciated.

Thanks for sharing :) I haven't upgrade the two mentioned programs myself yet, so, can anybody confirm the above problems?

Edit:

This link explains your DT 3.16 problems with windvd:

Daemon tools 3.02 works fine, too (on a W2k system). I have never tried it for burning, but playback in various software players works perfectly.

I myself also use the latest DT 3.16 without any problems with Win2k. No problems burning with Nero, CLoneCD or any software player like PowerDVD 4.0 or WinDVD 3.1 And I saw the changed drive letter after upgrading from 3.11 to 3.16 and re-assigned it to the old one again, perhaps that's why I never had any troubles with it.

Gerti

In the thread which I link to you'll see that the problem was with WinDVD 3.0 (when upgraded to 3.1 it worked again).

ok thanks dvd2svcd for the thread on daemon tools.. I guess theres nothing much i can do about that because i use windvd2000 its an older version to win dvd 3 but its a legal purchased one and i dont wanna purchase another dvd decoder just for the sake of testing my images.

as for clone cd I'm still unsure why my cd's are coming up coasters.. I mean its a liteon ltr 32123s with the xsox version of the firmware so I'm fairly sure that the burner is ok, the media is Ritek 80 min cd-r's dye type 7 and as i mentioned before it works perfectly fine with clone cd 4 beta 30.

My os is win xp i have a p3 933 385mb pc150 ram all of which shouldnt be a problem. Anyways.. thanks for al your help... might wait and see what happens when the next version of clone cd is released and see if that is ok
