Hi !

I'm trying to extract the english subtitles of a Korean movie.

I ripped the VOB files on my HDD, then I tried to exctract subs with both SubRip and Subripper, but it doesn't work !
Both scan the files, and don't find anything...
In SubRip, the channel where English seems to be is "2 - English", but there is nothing ;
in subripper, it indicates 21h (the same as in SmartRipper), but he doesn't work either :(

What can I do ??

Thanks in advance !

Can you see those subtitles in your DVD Player? if yes, are they closed captioned subs or normal subs? if normal, have they a name in SmartRipper? if not, try to extract the appropriate subtitles with VobSub, even it says not detected (even if there is not detected, bring it to the right and extract it).

Hmmm What is the difference between normal and closed encaptioned subs ?

By the way, I've tried to extract them in Virtual Dub... But it seems not work :'(

closed captioned subs can't be extracted using common software and don't appear in SmartRipper. There was a thread here about CC subs, use the search function to find it.

VirtualDub can't extract subs, use VobSub or SubRip for normal subs.

Hum... I guess I can't extract them in SubRip or else, but anyway they appear in Smartripper...
Anywa, I'll try SCC Tools this evening... Hope it'll work ! ;;^__^

can you make a screenshot of SmartRipper, where all streams appear and post it here?

Here is a screenshot from Smartripper...

I hope it will help you ?

That one should be perfectly be extracted with VobSub or any other sub extracting software. I don't know where the problem is.
In VobSub, take both "00 - not detected" & "01 - english" to the right and extract, and see what happens. You may also add the other 2 or 3 following "xx - not detected" streams, just in case ;)

T________T

It doesn't work...

I've got VobSub 2.16, SubRip 1.02 and Subripper 0.44, and none of them work ;

I've tried ALL the channels, and in every case, it didn't work.

I don't know what's going on, I don't understand why it doesn't work !

Use Vstrip and/or Vobsub 2.09
