Software DVD player for PC and showing subs (.srt,.sub)

Hi to all !
I have question on how to display subtitles in software DVD player (on PC) while watching DVD and that subs are not on DVD? I have PowerDVD4 and WinDVD3 for watching DVD's but what else do I need to insert sub's that are on my HD (.srt or .sub). I got my hands on some DVD's without subtitles so I download it from internet.
I tried searching forum but coudn't find any answer.
