Hi All

I would be very grateful for any advice relating to the purchase and use of a DLT drive for the purposes of dealing with a Replicator.

Which machines are good, disadvantages of cheaper models (the ones which I will have to be looking at...), hardware issues, software etc.

I am planning to build a Matrox RT2500 based system with Reel DVD and an A04 Drive on Abit/AMD machine.(Used this config. before).

All help gratefully received.

the DLT4000 should be sufficient, does 20/40 on DLTtape IV, and is what we use with replicators in taiwan, melbourne and china.

Thanks for this - it seems that they are available online for $700 which is not too much. What software do you use with it ? Should I be able to address the drive directly from Reel DVD or do I need special software ?

Any other help gratefully received.

we use DVDVirtuoso with it, works out of the box, not sure if other apps support it, but (in NT4) the Backup app (Admin Tools->Backup) can see the drive, so im pretty sure it installs itself as a standard tape drive.
