I have many music videos saved over the last year as vob's.They don't have ifo files. How do i make a dvd for playback on a regular player?Just the simplest way,i don't need a menu just to play one after another.I guess i'll make new ifo's with IfoEdit but then what?If i have 20 clips do i rename to vts_01_1.vob-vts_01_20.vob?And how do you string them together so everything works?

Hmmm... VOB's without IFO's are no good. You can't open them in IFOedit because IFOedit doesn't open VOB files, only IFO files. Sorry but it looks like you have no choice but to re-author. If I was in your shoes, I would:

1. demux all the video and audio streams from the VOB's with Vobrator or DVD2AVI

2. use those as the sources for re-authoring in SpruceUP, Maestro or Scenarist or if you have no choice... ULead, MyDVD or DVDit (yuk!)

Although DVDit is OK for simple projects provided your audio streams are not Dolby Digital 5.1

are they actually Vob's created with a dvd authoring program, or just multiplexxed streams?

As usual Ifoedit is the answer to your problems. You can create completely new Ifo files from the VOB's which will need tweaking at the end. Have a look here:-

Wow!.. I stand corrected jmonfm. Guess I'm still too new at this. :o
I didn't know IFOedit had that capability. Just learned something new. Thanks jmonfm :)

They are vob files ripped with smartripper from regular dvd's-they play perfectly in filemode with windvd.
As i wrote in the original post,i knew IfoEdit was able to create new ifo's but after this is done how do i proceed?I now have 20 vob's with corresponding ifo files, will they play just like that?

try to rename all your vobs :
vts_1_1.vob
vts_2_1.vob
...

Put everything in a directory and then create IFOs for all that stuff.
I never try but it should work

Anyway, I believe it's a lot more nice to creates menu with direct access to different chapters etc.
Tou can use Maestro which is quite simple and efficient or others.

Just demux m2v and AC3 from every vobs, and do menu pages with photoshop (or something else) using images extract from videos.

Then use Maestro and you will get a formidable DVD !
As usual there is a perfect guide on doom9 section...
