I'm trying to capture more then 4 gigs and Scenalzyer just stops and says my hard disk is full. I still have over 30 gigs free on that drive! I have it set up to capture unlimited, but it won't. Do I need to set it up to capture 4 gig files and then it will create several four gig files? If i do that, How do I make them seamless? Sorry for all the silly questions.
Is there a better capture program for capturing more then four gigs? Maybe I just need to format one of my drives to NTSF and use four DV capturing.
Also, these are type 2 files and I cannot open them up in virtual dub. What am I doing wrong? In fact, can VD even capture DV in through firewire?
thanks!
FAT32 is limited to 4GB files. Use NTFS.

Thanks! That did the trick. I even installed the Mainconcept codec and now it opens in Virtual Dub too! Yee-haw!

zeus163 I just started using Scenalyzer because of the option to capture past the 4gig limit. If I remember correctly I have it set to make new files at 2gigs or so. Scenalyzer wouldn't make new files for you after a certain amount of space used?

That's right. It would stop at 4 gig. Their website touts the fact that they can bypass the two/four gig limit, but I think that's only on a NTFS partition. I've now done two of my drives in NTFS and am glad I did for DV capture.

I just captured 1hr of footage and it broke the AVIs into 1.99gig segments resulting in 12.7gigs of broken AVIs.
Are you sure you set your options right? If you like NTFS, then I guess it doesn't matter.

I realized my mistake afterwards. I had it set up to capture it all (for win2000 and NT only). What I failed to realize was that I needed to select the 2 or 4 gig size and then it would have done it for me. However, is it easy to join them or add them together?
