I installed the 2k audio filters an dvix alpha 3 an 4 an 5 an still no good on the xp machine, any hints? Thanks for your support!!
I installed the "iviaudio.ax" filter (hope I didn't get confused with the name), then AC3 played fine on my XP.

"but can you tell me how to install the "iviaudio.ax" filter? I do have it with the audio filters but don't know how to install it"
^^^^^^^^^^^^^ was the Question - "I installed the 2k audio filters"
I mentioned in my 1st post,-they are easy to install -double click the .Bat file, but the "iviaudio.ax" is not a bat file that u can double click to install.so i ask again, how do you install the "iviaudio.ax" filter?
regsvr32 /s iviaudio.ax
But you can simply run the registerfilters-2k.cmd or the registerfilters-98.bat, depending on your OS. You didn't read the readme.txt, did you?

I guess my comunication skills are lacking, dunno, but[BB-But you can simply run the registerfilters-2k.cmd or the registerfilters-98.bat, depending on your OS. You didn't read the readme.txt, did you? ][in pervious poasts- hyway---I installed the 2k audio filters ---I installed the 2k audio filters they are easy to install -double click the .Bat file]- like the readme says . SORRY if you didnt understand that i was to stuipd till now to reconize that the executeing of the bat file IS WHAT installs the iviaudio.ax--IT IS the Filter. but just to make it CLEAR I had run the filter install b4 this post ever exsisted so that didnt fix it an just goes to enforce IMO that XP is a POS, but thats another story.Have a great weekend Thanks for trying @ this point i dont give a rats ass about that 1 movie that doesnt work in Xp. GG Hope the Moderator is around soon an Deletes this Post PLEASE.

Go to the audio forum and look for the thread titled "iviaudio.ax - is v2.6 the best choice?"
You'll find there a lot of tips what else you can change to make ac3 playback work (plus make it work with 4- and 5.1-channel surround).
What works best for me is the Moonlight Odio Dekoda (see the thread for a link).
