Hi, I have an AC3 (5.1) DivX and want to play it. I get the sound, but the Intervideo Audio Decoder properties just allow me to select 2 channel modes. The 4 and 6 channel options stay greyed out.

I use an Audigy and want to decode the AC3 to the analog outputs of the card, no SPDIF or similar, just a software decoding.

I've read alredy the AC3 FAQ here and most of the related posts, I've checked version 2.6 and 4.0.5.43 that came with my WinDVD 4 Plus which I use.

If I use version 2.6 the only difference is that SPDIF gets available in the properties window, but I want 6 channel mode.

Tried already several times to install the audiofilters.zip but this didn't solve the problem.

Set also in control panel -> Sounds and Multimedia the 5.1 speaker mode. Using also AC3 decode in the Surround Mixer of the Audigy.

There must be somtehing I forgot because no matter what I do or try, I won't get this 6 channel option.

WinDVD allows just 6 channel playback for DVDs and *.vob's, if I try to playback DivX in WinDVD, the same problem appears.
Also if I try to playback *.vob files in WMP they will only play in 2 channel mode.

I'd be very thankful for any hints, tricks or solutions to get this mode working.

@Xenoide,

To enable the 6ch analog playback in the WinDVD 4.0 you have to
configure the windows's speaker properties from your control panel
multimedia, set the speaker setting to the surround speakers,
and then restart the Windows and try again your WinDVD 4.0,
make sure you have the multichannel (DTS) version of the WinDVD.

About the analog 6ch playback for AVI-AC3 the iviaudio.ax produce
wrong channel mapping, I head the center sound from the Front Right. :(
I can only use the SPDIF-out enable and enabling the Internal
Audigy AC3 decoder.

Thank you.

Thanks for your help. I've set the speaker mode in control panel already and WinDVD behaves ok at least for DVDs.

Has anyone ever got the 6 channel option running in iviaudio.ax for AVI playback? If so, please tell me how you managed that...
