Detect whether a wav has been compressed or not

Hi there...

I'm doing a lot of bootleg trading but do not always believe that the discs I get are (as wanted) 100% pure source. Are there any tools that can detect certain psychoacoustical compression algorithms (especially MP3)?

Rip a track from the cd and load it in Nero Wave Editor (or whatever sound program you have that has a frequency monitor) and play it.
Watch the Frequency monitor and if the frequency get's cut off at 15+KHz then the track was compressed before it was burned.
