Just tried it out, and its the newer, hopefully stabler, version of that Real Producer Plus 9 thing that Chinese guy had on his warez site. Download it here:
http://www.realnetworks.com/products/producer/basic.html
P.S.- don't worry about where it says the free version doesn't have "Customizable Target Audience blah blah blah", you can still manually edit the .rpad audiences with XMLNotepad or whatever.
P.P.S - And oh yeah, Real just announced they're gonna release certain parts of their Server and Encoder products under an Open Source license - wow!

I found something interesting on the download registration page. When they ask for what county you are from they don't list Afganastan, but they DO list Antarctica....

does someone know why this version of realproducer don't close the dos-box at the end of the encoding ? there is a file from the preview version (the dos box is closed at the end of the encode process in this version or RP9) to copy in the Helix directory ?

Its probably because Real is a US company and as such, has to conform to the Export Administration Regulations.
For example, you can't download Mozilla if you live in Afghanistan, Cuba, Iran, Iraq, Libya, North Korea, Sudan, or Syria. So there you go.

 No mozilla? I thought it was basic human rights?! Oh wait I see! Stick them using buggy IE versions while we sneek up in mozilla stealth mode and blamo. :) It was a misconfigured Windows server in Bagdad that told us all Sadam's planned moves. Windows, the united states greatest secret weapon! They are not bugs they are features!
Back on topic a new RM encoder version? Bout time :) Now to find a copy of XMLnotepad and get busy. :)

Why don't they just list the Moon and Mars as well...

Is this version better than realsystem producer 9 preview or not.I have seen that this preview haven't the same feature as the software I quoted

Well the one you quote is an early beta version that some chinese guy is warez'ing.
Helix is the release version of that with no memory leak, updated producer code, and lots of bug fixes. Helix basic has the same restrictions that RP8.5 basic did.
You can though edit the .rpad files and Helix basic won't mind or bitch at you.

I don't have anything against Dark-craker but I prefer use the tools provided by real.

Should I use the Realsystem Producer 9 Preview or the new Helix Producer Basic for RV9? With which one you get the better quality?
Sorry for this stupid questions but I dont know the differences between these two versions. Thank you in advance!

Sorry about the confusion, Baghira, I should have made it clear: Helix Producer IS the official new version of Real Producer, so yes you should use it, it is much less buggy than the Preview version.

Is the MSL(Maximum startup latency) still limited to 25 seconds in this basic version because it was in real system producer.

Unfortunately yes...

the MSL is always 25 sec in the PLUS and in the BASIC version.

What is the concern over MaxLatency anymore? Helix\RV9 does true vbr, as opposed to the vbr of rp8.5.
Besides, rv9 is pretty much almost perfect at 500k and golden at 768...

RealNetworks continues its honeymoon with open source community and announced today that it has signed an agreement with Xiph.Org Foundation to integrate Ogg Vorbis audio format with recently announced Helix DNA client to give tools for developers to build media players that support Ogg Vorbis format and use the same player technology as Real's commercial RealONE Player uses.

Real using ogg instead of atrc in realmedia would be... pretty damn cool.
Since Ogg is GPL'd though Real can't take it closed source (which Real has to do for DRM reasons). So the chances of Ogg in Realmedia are slim if not non-existant.

1) Ogg is BSD not GPL so they can take it closed source
2) why does DRM have to be closed source?
3) why do you need to modify the codec to implement drm why not just implement in the real video file format that way you only have to write it once and not for every codec you write.

well correct me again if I am wrong.
If coders have the DRM code, they can compile a RealPlayer to ignore DRM and copy the streaming file, can't they?

True vbr? yes but only in the time limit of the MSL.
Try 2-pass VBR MSL=4 and MSL=25 and you will see the difference :)
