why do ntsc have to be set to "drop frame" on scenarist?
what happen if "non drop frame" is selected?

I've forgotten to change the setting in the past. It didn't seem to make any difference...the authored DVD payed fine on every player that I tried it on.

but if you have subs you will run into problems.. the subs will slowly get asynch (had to find out about that the hard way)

I too was wondering about this. I did 2 movies on my own before even reading the guide and they came out fine. I did not use subs and have actually never gotten them to work even using drop-frame and following the guide.
