hi there,
I got 5 vobs, 1-3 of exactly 900mb, 4 and 5 a litle bit more and less
I have some questions about that:
1) is this a bug or a feature ? *g*
2) will this play on my standalone ? I can't test it on -rw cause
my player won't play at all
3) maybe as a result of this the subs are out of sync ??
regards,
mike

Very difficult to answer that question, Mike, since I've never used Impression Pro, and since I do not know the procedure you used to author within the program. All I CAN say is that, on a generalised DVD-authoring level, your problem does not "ring any bells" with me.
It might be helpful to us if you could give a brief description of your basic DVD project-structure, and the size of your imported assets.
Sorry I can't be more helpful to you.
Good luck.

I have this software (came with my Pinnacle card) but never used it since I already had software that did everything I needed. I just installed it and I have to say that I'm not too impressed up front. It doesn't seem to give you much control over your project. I figured maybe there was a setting you were missing or something. I'm going to compile a project real quick (real quick...haha ;) ) and see what it does here so you at least have someone to compare it to. Ultimately, it's not anything to worry about. Your player will not complain about it. As for the subs, that's another matter entirely.

hi arky,
thanx for your kind answer !
well I'm also new to ths software. I did a lot with SpruceUp before,
but due to the limitations of Spruce I was looking for another soft
that can do multi audio tracks and subs and is running with
98 (*g*).
So, in this special case I have a .m2v (704x576, made with cce, used avisynth for frameserving, about 3,5gb size, I did this serveral times and had never probs with Spruce), movie length about
140 mins. 2 ac3 tracks (both 5.1) and 1 subtitle track (subrip)
The import of these assets didn't show me any strange behaviour, everything seems to be corrcet (resolution, lenght, bitrate).
Well no menu, I thought of doing this later ;-).
Playing the vobs with powerdvd from hd is ok (beside the out of sync subs).
s.th. about the subs. it seems like that they are more and more async as longer the movie goes (hey, cool english ?!). on the original disk
you cannot watch the movie without the subs, maybe thats a hint ?
mike
p.s. thanx to trilight too, you were a little bit faster than my post ;-)
