I’ve encoded a movie following the gknot divx3.11 guide to the dot. Movie plays fine in WMP & Zoom. However, after I add the subtitles to the directory (.idx & .sub), everything gets screwed-up…
1. The movie itself is in 512x208 (see file properties here (http://invader.dbs.umt.edu/o11/properties.jpg)), and without subs it plays fine (video & audio).
2. After adding the subtitle files to the directory and playing the video, the screen initially goes all black (see here (http://invader.dbs.umt.edu/o11/screen.jpg)).
3. When moving the mouse and “feeling” where the menus might be:
--the picture appears way too big and upside-down (like this (http://invader.dbs.umt.edu/o11/initial.jpg))
--the audio is out of sync (although the subs are sync’ed with video)
--the avi’s properties for some reason show that the video is 1024x576 (not sure about the 2nd number).
4. After flipping the picture through the menu, the result is the same as in 3 above, only now the video appears “unflipped” (like this (http://invader.dbs.umt.edu/o11/flipped.jpg)).
5. I removed the sub files and dloaded .srt file with the same framerate, but the result was the same as when using vobsub’s files in 2, 3, and 4 above.
Can anyone give some pointers as to how to get the movie and subtitles to “play nice” with each other?
Zipped .idx here (http://invader.dbs.umt.edu/o11/oceans11.zip)
Thanks for help. :)
