I just made a DVD with Maestro that has a menu background and two buttons, one for each movie. When I put the DVD in my set top player the menu background comes up with the first button highlighted, but no matter what I do with my remote I can't get the second button to highlight to select that movie. Any idea whats going on?

you probally didn't assign the button's , use the auto feature.
I did the same earlier, thought it was like spuceup. You have to assign the up, down, right or left selections

OK, both buttons are linked to the right movie, but no matter what I do I can't skip to the next button, works on my computer but not my set top. Why can't I switch between buttons?

You may have set their action but apparently you still have not set their navigation. Many things like this are overcome on the computer because there are more ways to access them than on the standalone players. Check your navigation in Maestro again.

hey TRILIGHT,
I see what your talking about as far as navigation, do you know how I would set it so that I can switch between buttons and hit enter when I want to select a movie?

In the menu editor, click on the "buttons" tab. You set the navigation there. Unless you're doing something complex, you could just use cap4000's suggestion of going to the "advanced" tab and clicking the "Auto Assign" button. Actually, I find it's best to do that first to begin with anyway and then edit anything you want different.

Also, when you draw your box to use as a button in Maestro, is there a way you can have just the frame of the box highlight?

You could use a blank subpicture and have a highlight only, but this would still highlight the entire area of the defined button field. I think what yu really need to do is to create a subpicture which only has a fine line framing the button field, so that only this will highlightonce it is mapped and played back.
It's really very simple...
