Hi,

ripping, converting and muxing subtitles with SubRip and WinSubMux
- thereīs no porblem:
but no matter which color i choose for font,outline,.. my MUSTEK
V560 only shows subtitles in white and superbright green -> hard to read!
In SubRip i choosed 4 Bit/8Bit for Philips.... and different colors
for all exept the background (transparent works).

So i downloaded samples from vcdhelp and from a french site, which somebody told in this forum, but they didīt work at all!

I already wrote to MUSTEK - no answer yet!

Has somebody the same problem?
Can someone tell me a working test.mpg for PAL with 2 Audiostreams and CVD Subtitles?

I somewhere read about subtitles for SVCD to have 2 bit! Couls this be the problem? But SubMux only takes 4 + 8 bit!

Big Thx!

Yes, there is an issue with Mustek players & CVD subtitle colors in DVD2SVCD 1.0.9B3. At least as far as my tests show.

The problem is that the players misinterpret the palette, and fail to create proper black/dark outlines around the text. This renders selectable CVD subtitles invisible against bright picture areas. :(

The only thing I've managed to do is use "black, white, black, black" colors, but that only has the effect of removing outlines. The default palette would in comparison make outlines white aswell, very blurry.

It's a bit of a shame considering the popularity of these players, and their ability to properly support selectable CVD subtitles in all other respects.

If someone has figured this one out, don't hesitate to inform us!

Cheers,
