Capturing Guide Help

Hello,

I'm wondering if anyone can please recommend a good capturing guide. I'm running a low end PC so CPU friendly method is a must.

Hauppauge Wintv (mono)
733 Celeron Processor
umm....some junky 20 gig samsung hdd
256 memory -----It's an E-mAchine 766id
Please let me know what other specs are needed.

I will be capturing TV and various Home movies on VHS.
