Unfortunately, I don't know anything about "Prassi"...

VOBs are in general an MPEG2 Program file with a special structure, it is only a multiplexed multi-stream format with a 2 KB block structure. Blockwise multiplexing is necessary to have audio and video in sync - the player gets small blocks of audio, video and maybe subtitles almost at the same time.

If this program you are using needs a simple MPEG2 Video stream, then you may have to demux the video stream out of the VOBs. Any good DVD ripper with stream processing (e.g. SmartRipper in Movie mode) can do that. But be aware that you might need an NTFS partition to handle files which might become larger than 4 GB...

If you can tell us what "Prassi" is good for, and which file formats it can handle (just read its documentation), we might give you better solutions.
