Problem with MOV file and TMPG

Hi ya!

MOV file is not being opened by TMPG. Don't know what to do.

By the way, is there any means to playback MOV and QT files without installing the spyware Quicktime? (sort of QT codecs)

Do you have a reference for your statement that Quicktime is spyware? I'd be interested to see it if you have. Perhaps it'd be better to PM me rather than post such a link here.

Regarding TMPGEnc not being able to read Quicktime files - well yes, this is obviously because you need Quicktime installed, and, IF it's an old version of TMPGEnc, you would also require the quicktime reader plugin (which still relies upon Quicktime itself being installed). TMPGEnc can generally only rely upon the installed base of system codecs for interpretation of files to be encoded.
