Hi there... for anyone interested, in a hurry I got the latest version from MPEG4IP CVS, compiled it in MSVC and uploaded to my MPEG4IP page (link below). The player now features MPEG1/2 support thanks to a new plugin, althought it's a bit choppy (you'll need a fast computer). It also fixes the compatibility problems with some MP4 files which were introduced in 0.9.4.5 and should be more compatible with QT6 according to the authors. It finally compiles right out of the box under Win32 with no fixes and with all features enabled. I made some contributions to this release, mainly with the Win32 compiling issues.

Just a note, if you are using XviD as MPEG4 encoder for use with MPEG4IP and you get compatibility problems (mainly with QT6) you should enable b-frames and set max-bframe value to -1. This way XviD will create better MPEG-4 compliant videos according to Suxen.

Hope you like it.

videos with b-frames are still very choppy in playback :(
and it's just 40% CPU utilization, so it's not that.

Sorry... link to mp4tools fixed (Doom9: you can update the package now).

@neo_sapien: AFAIK MPEG4IP does not support b-frames, I guess we'll have to wait for an updated xvid package which is used to play the MPEG4 content by default. The "b-frames" fix I talked about does not imply actually using b-frames but chosing a more compatible mode.
