Hi everyone,

I have one of those Panasonic RV31 DVD players that can't play SVCDs, so I have to do that multiplexing trick where you put the VCD headers on to get it to work. I was wondering if there is a way to preserve chapters when doing this?

Previously, I'd obtain a .BIN SVCD image, extract the MPG file out of it, run MPEGTools over it to Multiplex it, and then burn the new MPG file as a VCD. It works great, except there aren't any menus, chapters, etc.

Is there a way to take the XML file that's in the original .BIN and then re-use it with the VCD? It would be great to have those chapters.

Thanks for all your help!

Well, alfter long time looking for a solution -your thread is the only one on the first page that remain unreplied apart of mines :'( -, but you'll have to experiment with it.

VCDEasy includea a tool to rip SVCDs (MPGs, segments and XML files) from burned SVCDs or BIN/CUEs images:

VCDEasy -> http://www.doom9.org/Soft21/svcdtools/VCDEasy_v1.1.1_Setup.exe

Once you have MPGs and XML ripped, you can change MPG header and burn them with the XML already ripped (maybe using VCDEasy). As I said before, you'll have to try if it works...

Bonzo.
