HI..
The title .BMP files work well, but then i wondered, would there be a way to render an AVI or an MPEG instead of a bitmap... a short 2 second intro would be cool...
If there's a way, please advise
thanks in advance

I'm not sure if i have understood what you want, but... if you want ananimated intro, why don't you put that (as an MPG) as 1st track on the SVCD?

Just use any SVCD-compatible mpeg2 video sequence.
I've done some experimenting with this, and it works perfectly, at least with my stand-alone player (on computer DVD as well).
The trick is that you choose to use another title picture first, but replace it with your video sequence after DVD2SVCD is finished, and recompile the image (re-run the VCDXBuild, the command line is in the dvd2svcd_log.txt).
Basically, just pick any video sequence and encode it to SVCD mpeg (I used TMPGEnc with its standard PAL SVCD presets). Then you put it in the directory where your files are and either rename it to titlepicture.bmp.mpg or go and edit the right filename to VCDXBuild_Script_1.xml. Recompile image. Voilá.
You can try it out first on Virtual CD, then on CD-RW etc. just
to make sure that you get it just as you wanted.
Good luck.
