hi. i have a divx which is perfectly synched. i tried converting it to vcd in tmpeg but there was no sound. so, i opened the divx in virtual dub and saved the audio as a wav file. then i went into tmpeg, and chose the divx as the video source, and the wav as audio source.

when it finished, i had a movie which was synched at the beginning, (i think, it's kinda hard to tell with a roaring lion), but slowly slowly it gets worse and worse. the sound speeds up, so by teh end, it's about 10 seconds ahead of the video.

i looked in the guides and it uses a program called ulead something, whihc is 35mb. i can' be bothered to download it.

i was hoping someone could give me an alternative solution??

Hi,

I had the same problem, which i couldnt fix for a VERY long time. All the guides that i say all said to great 'this program' or 'that program' which i didnt want to do (as i didnt want to download full-version programs, and then crack them...as im not paying $100 or more just to fix one file). But after a while of searching for free program i failed. So I got Sonicfoundrys sound forge, and used this guide http://forum.vcdhelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=78944 the top post (the actual guide) works. there are heaps of posts after it by people trying to figure out different methods...but there retards, so ignore those posts :)

All i needed to do is compress the sound...simple as that...but trying to find a program was that hard bit.

hope this works
