When you use DVD2SVCD you can easily overlap CD1 and 2, how can I do that when using bbMPEG by itself?

dvd2svcd specifies overlapping muxing ranges. Simply put: the first CD is created according to size, e.g. 795megs. The file is then demuxed and the length is determined, e.g. 1800 secs. For the second CD, a mux range starting at 1795 secs. with a max. size of 795megs specified is used ...

I know how to overlap them AFTER CD1 is created but I want to overlap them without having to create CD1 first. DVD2SVCD uses bbMPEG and does the overlap according to the "CD overlap seconds" used. It apparently keeps track of the first CD's length in seconds and subracts 2 seconds. I wanted to know if I could tell bbMPEG to do that without me creating CD1 first and subtracted 2 seconds.

To my knowledge, dvd2svcd does it excactly like you said - the first CD is created (according to size), then the length in seconds is determined, then the second CD is created.
If you have CBR video, it is of course easier, as you will know beforehand how many seconds of movie will fit on a CD - then you can specify something like 1-1800 secs for the first CD and 1795-3500 for the second one without having to worry about whether it fits on one disc.
