I thought I had seen it mentioned here that you could not make an SVCD with a AC3 soundtrack, I'm puzzled, because I do it all the time in THPGEnc. Am I missing something? All my SVCD's come out perfectly, and never have any sync issues whether done at 29.976 or at 23.976. They all play correctly in my DVD player which is a GE 5803p. Any input? Thanks!

what do you mean exactly?

that you get ac3 as audio source into tmpeg?
no problem, when the needed directshow filters are installed. this way ac3 is converted to stereo, which becomes ordinary mp2, offering dolby surround at best case.

or are you muxing ac3-stream and video together?
when your player plays this, then you are probably one in a million, i think...

btw: even if this works, this is NO svcd, because ac3 violates the standard.

This is good for you, but as the previous poster said you're very lucky to have a player that can play AC3 on an XVCD. If (more like when) that DVD player breaks you better hope you can get a replacement that can read all the XVCDs you made.
